hey guys. is there a good method to tightening the bolts on the transmission gasket? i replaced the gasket and didnt want to over tighten them but not sure if i need to tighten them some more. i am seeing some leaks on one area...
More than likely the pan is dimpled at the bolt holes. Over the years the bolts loosen and they get tightened up which smashes the gasket but also raises the metal around the holes in the pan. You just need to take the pan off and lay the pan rail on a sturdy bench and hammer them flat. You will see what I mean when you pull the pan.
