i just got a 82 buick regal, everything was stock on it and i recently put a 454 big block with a 400 turbo transmission in it. the engine did not have a starter intake manifold fuel pump or water pulley. I bought all those things and installed them. my question is when i went to buy a 400 turbo crossmember made for the buick it still does not fit the transmission pan is in the way so i modified it a bit and it is sitting on the transmission pan as of now will that be a problem in the long run and also i bought a bbc 454 fuel pump from ebay for $28 the fuel pump does not have the right clearence im new to the mechanical world and trying my best to figure these things out with help. it seems as if the fuel pump has to be upside down to properly fit but the bowl is in the way and the lever is shorter than the one taken off the stock 3.8l v6 engine the regal came with. also is the lever suppose to be able to extend up because it does not or will it do that when the engine is cranked. Also with the drive shaft is seems as if it needs to be shortened about a inch and rebalanced with turbo 400 u joints for the 400 yoke and the regular stock 82 regal u joints is that right?
