Cool mine is a 83 so I have 5a heads

Ok went to the junkyard today and think I found me 403 a 77 slant back cutlass. Wife is help paying for it as my Valentine day gift. Was doing a little research on the and read some things about the head intake journals being to big of some sort, would my heads be a good choice? Or so I try to keep the 403 stock at moment?

Me and the wife started on the removal of the engine, we are nearly done just have to just drop the cross-member and undo the motor mounts. Checked the casting on the block and it is a 350, I will complete the removal after dropping the wife off at work.

I have question is a olds 350 only a rocket if was stamped on the air cleaner, or if it had gold paint?

No they are all technically "Rockets". You have found the least desirable Olds 350. Expect about a 25 hp/tq gain.

Per the casting numbers this is what I have....

3B '77-'80 350 557752

Ultimately this is better than another 307, anyone know if the olds 455 is rare in a Buick centry? I recall seeing one at the yard seen a v8 but didn't look to hard.

Got a different engine casting 395558 out a g body cutlass...is this better than the other block?

Currently I can see my thread is getting no love... Did a little research on the casting on the block and this engine has solid mains. Really excited about towing my cutlass to my parents house to do the swap, me and my dad are gear heads. My pops has a 65 c-10 paid $1400.00 it has old school Mercedes head like conversion from either the deisel Benz or v-10 not sure. I'll load some pictures in a few!

Yeah, it would be one-of-none rare. Olds 455s were NEVER factory-installed in Buicks.
