83' Hurst Battery?

Hello, I am trying to find the right size battery for my early model year 1983 Hurst/Olds. I purchased a Delco 75VPG but it is too wide by about a 1/2" and too short. I do remember years ago some of the batteries I purchased had a removable black plastic spacer on top of them. I am trying to keep everything stock.

Size 75 is the standard size battery with the size 78 being an optional size. Olds guys will chime in on this if I'm wrong but I do believe there should be a over the battery hold down bracket so the tray size not matching the battery shouldn't be an issue.

Try 70 series. 8.75 inch side post. Make sure that which ever side your battery is located that the negative cable is next to fender. On 78 - 81 F Body Camaro/Firebird factory had some with positive near the fender. In front and side collision... Not good... Could cause battery to short. IE: Batt explodes or cable goes red hot causing wire insulation to catch fire.

On my 76 Supreme some one replaced the Batt with wrong top post. The day I just bought and driving home, it blew the hood open.

You need to get the 78 series Interstate 6 year warranty battery, it doesn't have a logo on the terminal side, and is the correct white. And it'll works with the $85 Freedom II topper.
