hell yes!!! lol I always did. I found out that with a few of the 3.8's i worked on too that the heater plate was one cause of fires cuz they would short out after so long of use. How, i dont know, lol but yea, id check and see if there are still stock ones that are being made or available, ya know. I think there was a few years ago, but sh*t changes, ya know. if there arent than some gasket maker material and some gasket maker works great too, lol
 
that or just leave the one you got disconnected and cut all the bullshit off of it, that'll work too.
