Re: 84 cutlass calais

Their inexpensive factory D5 type rebuild lock up converters can stall 2,800 behind your lil sbc and 3,000 behind a big cube or turbo motor. They rate it safe at 400 TQ I think because of trans brakes & slicks but it should handle to about 450 on the street. So if you are not camming it out of daily driveable capable street car realm or spraying it from the dig it should suit your needs well. They didn't mention anti balloning so you might ask about that although it may very well not be needed for your application. $299 is cheap for a converter and both the ones I had worked well although mine came thru Extremeautomatics there in Cincy.

Re: 84 cutlass calais

Not a big black wheels fan but those with a good body color and the right trim can look great on a g. I have seen them look pretty bad arse in fact. I also seen a lot of black wheeled vehicals look like poop its all in how its tied together. Extremeautomatics did both my 200-4Rs for behind the 509 powered 442 and my GN. tobyp & xcessiv6 are two other cincy members that would know Lonnie at extremeautomatics. Sometimes Lonnie contributes on the turbobuick forum in the transmission section.
