i am getting an 84 cuttlass supreme that needs a new gas tank. I have a gas tank out of a 71 nova and wanted to know if it would fit. i know GM used this gas tank for a long time but i dont know for how long and if it is only for x bodys. if you have any info please help.

I tend to think not, but you could always try it. Barring that, research the tank volumes of both cars. If they are not the same, they probably don't interchange. You could also measure the critical dimensions with a tape measure, and check the inlet and outlet positions to see if they match up.
