I was out messing around with my carb earlier today when I decided to give my car a test run. I burned a little rubber & I got the same thing I usually get when burning some rubber which is this...

When I did that I heard the drivers side give off a little chirp so I held my head out of the window & tried it again. This is what I got the second time.

Does this mean the rear end in my car is a posi? If so, why doesn't it kick in everytime I burning rubber?

Curious, why are only the outside parts of your tailights red? Did you wire it up different?

The actual pinion gears are worn out and grabing on the pinion pin and locking the axl gears, so it spins both wheels. Just did one for my buddy in a regal had to cut the pin out with the torch. Lots of abuse on the diff.

Judging from the little hooks at the beginning of the burnout, looks like someone was rolling backwards when they dropped the hammer. abuse indeed!

Looks to me as though he was holdin' in place burnin' rubber as he said. The marks and small piles of rubber dust suggest the car was stationary.

As for the on again off again posi, I vote that its worn out as well.

I agree, when the clutches wear out you get one wheel peel instead of both. You can try to change the gear oil and add the limited slip differential additive to it and see if that helps it. But you do have a limited slip in there, when working correctly you should get both tires to spin from a dead stop and one tire will spin when taking a corner which transfers the weight to one side.
