I am building a Cutlass for the drag strip only. Some of you are familiar with my gold 85 Cutlass with the 403, that engine will be coming out of the street car and going in the race car. The street car will be getting a 350 that is at the machine shop now. Here are some photos of my progress so far.

Under side of the body was power washed, scraped and blasted. Turned the rotors and painted the spindles and brakes. These brakes will go on the street car in my sigline and the Blazer setup will come off and go on the race car.

We are working on the rear end right now. Here we are cutting the axle tubes to install the c-clip eliminators.

Nice work. What kind of times are you expecting? What do you have done to that 403?

The 403 is .040 over with Arias pistons. The rotating assy. and the heads came from J&S machine. 330 steel crank, stock rods, #8 heads and halo girdle. Performer RPM intake, Lunati 10420703 cam, Qjet from SMI and a 150 shot. With this set up I have run an 11.28 in the quarter. With the new set up, Holly street dominator single plane intake and Lunati 10420704 cam with another Qjet from SMI and a 150 shot I expect to get to the mid to low 10's

I think that it is AWESOME that your car is Olds powered! I figured LS something...nice. I built one a few years ago with a 455 out of a Toronado, with a Monte SS 3.73 posi....way fun to drive, not as much fun to feed, but, it was cool. When the 455 finally laid down,I went with a stock 403. I always thought nitrous would have really woke it up.

So, 330 steel crank in a 403 block...makes for a safe to rev Olds, I like it.

Pics of the engine and trans installed and the radiator and fan.

I'm done with the engine install for a while. We need to get the steering column back in to make pushing this thing easier. We push it outside when I'm not working on it.
