85 Cutlass Drag Car

Thanks Doug, It's been more work than I expected and I don't think I will be taking another car apart completely again. I hope to be done by March for opening day at the track. I got a tripod for my Flip camera so I may get some new video of test and tune. I want to see what the car does off the line.

Here are some pictures of my progress. I have a wiring harness built and ready to install as soon as I fab a bracket for the power distribution box that came from a Crown Vic police car. It has all the fuses and relays I need in a nice unit with a lid, it is going in the trunk next to the battery. The brakes and steering are in. The seat is in so I can start installing the roll bars (10pt) My dash and insturment/switch panels are coming along and I will have pics when it is done. This build is now going on 2 years, I thought it would only take 1 year. Oh well, I'm making good progress and will try to start the engine next weekend and break in the new cam
and lifters. I hope to be on the track by April.

I did a little work on my dash today using Auto Meter gauges and .040 anodized brushed gold aluminum for the panels.

I painted the car over the weekend. It was my first try at painting and it did not turn out as good as I had hoped for. I had some blotching of the metallic and some dry spot in the clear coat. I think I will just wet sand and see if the clear coat is ok. Here are some pics.
