ive been messing with this car for the past year. i couldnt make up my mind on what to do with it. LS swap, SBC or a BBC. i ended up going with a BBC because i got a good deal on a mild built 454. the person i got the car from was going to use it for dirt track racing so its taken a lot of work to get it to where its at now. ive been driving it for the past 2 weeks finally. still has the stock junky rear end, which is no fun with it being open, one tire fire. im still trying to decide between a 9 inch or a 8.8.

the one thing thats really bugging me right now is why my grills look the way they do??? can anyone tell me why they dont fit right?

Welcome to the site from Houston. Cool car. Lets see that BBC!

Spacers won't help them not stick out. Are they swapped side to side?

If you put them between the most tabs and the header panel it will

Looks like the left grill is on the right side and vise versa.

Go with a bolt in 9 inch. And stay away from QP there axles are known to leak unless they fixed there problem recently.

Welcome aboard from KY man. If you pull the grilles off, look at the backsides of them. The part # should be there and they should say LH & RH.

they are on the correct sides. at first i thought i had put them on the wrong sides. when put the new radiator in i pulled the grills to check but they are in the right spot. i do have 2 different styles but the mounts are broke off the other set. ill get pics of the motor here soon.

its not much to look at. i need to clean it up some more under the hood. shorten the plug wire and do something with the oil pressure line. im running the hooker 2455 headers. i couldnt see paying the price for gbody headers. it took a little work but they fit fine and under half the price. im running the eledbrock carb and air gap intake untill i put the 496 in place of the 454.(if i dont end up going LS power). ive been thinking i should have went more of a pro touring set up. with the big block i dont think ill get this thing to turn like id want. sooooo,

im leaning towards doing a major change or finding another car to build and keep this one a bb street/strip car.
