why did you go with a jeep shaft for the box? the OE shaft from the car should have slid right in.

The jeep steering shaft is a quick upgrade to our G-Body cars..It replaces the original shaft that had the weak rag joint , and the jeep shaft has U-joints instead of the rag joing..It tightens up the steering...I noticed the difference right away when I did this swap a few months back..

The steering box bolted right up I had to use the monte bolts though and the s10 pitman arm. I got it from a 82 s10 I believe with the 4 cylinder from pull and save.

Got the fuel tank back in yesterday. But I need a sending unit ASAP but nothing turns up at the junkyard so Ill give it another two weeks then Ill break down and buy a new. Been driving it down the street a few times. Just need insurance then Ill drive it a few times a week to go to work and run errands. Now that I got all the small things finished to for some real upgrades.
Had to ghetto rig the sending unit for now. And just some pics I took of it out of the garage for the first time in forever.

And I wet sanded and buffed the trunk for the heck of it and it came out ok but the car still needs to be repainted lol

You can get the drop in hanger sending unit at ebay motors cheap. If you want a new high performance pump check out www.racetronix.com click the Buick GN pump link as they had the same in-tank set up as the 4.3tbi Monte. Not sure what you are doing now since you have moved to a carberator but I used the Mallory 4309 adjustable fuel pressure regulator / fuel return for my carberated 442 with the GN/TBI Monte in-tank electric pump.
