bought an 85 regal limited last summer, vin check says the 305 is an HO, trans looks like a turbo 350, its the 4 speed OD, on the column, a friend tild me they are one of the rarest regals around, any one have info on this car?

The 305 was avalible in the Canada built G bodys, US built had the 3.8L Buick or 307 Olds engines. If it looks like a TH350 transmission but has OD on the gauge cluster somebody swapped the original transmission out.
It really doesn't sound like anything "rare" about your Regal.

Agreed. I don't think the 305 H.O. ever came in any G Body except the Monte SS and the 442 or Hurst Olds. And two if it has a TH350 it's probably not original. There may have been G bodies with Th350's especially in the early days, but most had TH200's, 200R4's, or 700r4's.

My 82 Caballero came with the TH350-C.
also I have an 80 Cutlass that came equipped similarly.
Canadian edition of cars.
Olds motors seem kinda rare up here....

Only B/D bodies, 88 Cutlass and the Hurst/Olds and 442 got the Olds 307 up here. The Hurst/Olds and 442's got the Olds 307 HO, essentially US cars with different speedo's. That must be rare as most just got the run of the mill 305's. I know of no Cutlass's or Regal's up here that got the 305 HO. The Monte is a different story.
