Would a bad 02 sensor cause this if it was bad or "lazy". When I got the car running and started going through it I found the 02 sensor wire burned on the exhaust manifold. I cut out the bad wire and replaced it with same guage. Never replaced it yet.

Blocked off all the ports on the carb except the brakes and trans modulator, replaced the 02 and now it seems to run better. No more popping and bogging. Idle doesn't seem to be as smooth as it should but that could be a few weak plug wires. It does die when put in gear once in a while. Don't quite know why. I'm gonna check tps tomorrow. I'm trying to find a scanner to borrow but I do have a dwell meter. If i remember right I connect the red clip to the green plug, ground the black, start car and ground the aldl. If I did this correctly I have 54 on the dwell meter. I have no idea what it should read. Can anyone give me a run down of values?
