 Whats up folks newb here, my vinyl rag top has been in bad shape since I got my Monte and I want to remove it. I heard that when you pull the rag off there's a valley under the trim that has to be addressed, if anyone has any pics or info that could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch ((((JTB))))

If you use the search bar at the top im 100% positive that you will find the answers for your questions

Thanks for your input man but I tried monte carlo rag top removal, rag top removal, vinyl top removal, and had 0 results lol. Please post some links if you come across something.

My car's previous owner tore the vinyl off my '85 Monte and as far as I can tell, there isn't a valley. The roof is primed though so I don't know if he did any bodywork to cover that up. Also, you will have 1/8" holes to fill from the rivets on the bottom trim.

Incase you haven't started yet, I'm assuming your talking about the seam where the roof panel and quarter panel meet up. These come unfinished on vinyl top cars so you will have a little body work. Plus grinding down the mounting pins for the clips that held the trim on and filling in the rivet holes around the back window.
