i have an 86 monte ls with a 305 4 bbl. it runs awful, and the 2004r tv valve is stuck open. its computerized, the carb, air fuel mixture all of it. so my question is if i slap headers and a non computer 4 bbl on the 305 do i have to have an msd or street fire ignition box?

You would replace the distributor with a hei type. No msd required.

it already has an hei dizzy. but will it still start or go into limp mode?
