im goin with the holley replacement carb from summit..its about $450.00...wat do ya'll think about that?

I think you will be tinkering with it as long as you own the car. Holley is best for a straight up race car not as good for a driver. It will slobber more fuel at part throttle but is great at wot. Where will you spend most of your time? You already got what many of us think. Summit race shop parts hockers must have upsold you to a lesser carb that sold for $150 more. Do a search their is great thread about carbs on this site.

PS Did you want the truth or for me to spare your feelings.

i would much rather the truth because i'm lost when it comes 2 carburetors THANKS....when i called Summit i was told that the holley carb was the only one they had for my car as a direct replacement....called Jegs and they told me they couldn't help me...the car is my daily so i'm lookin 4 the best gas mileage i could get...so now im thinkin about callin Guaranteed carburetor and seeing wat they have ...

If all you need is a good stock replacement, try a local carb shop. Most major metropolitan areas still have several, and they will know what to do with your old E4ME Quadrajet. As the car is stock, keeping the stock carb will be your best option. The computer Quadrajet is not the best carb ever made, but it can be made to perform decently, even on a modified engine. After all, the ECU does nothing at WOT and the secondaries operate the same as any other Quadrajet. All the computer controls is idle and part throttle. I believe Jet used to build performance variants of these carbs, but as your car is stock, a local shop is the most cost effective option available to you. I would expect to pay $100-200 depending on what is wrong with it. Just be sure the TPS is properly calibrated. Failure to do this will result in the torque converter clutch clunking when you move on and off the throttle in traffic at moderate speeds (40-50MPH).

THANKS for that information...I will start 2 look in the phone book 2 c if i can find any carburetor rebuilders...
