Changed out the carb gasket for a new FelPro gasket, fixed the problem and it runs really smooth and idles good. Thank you all for your help. The new FelPro gasket was a lot softer than any other carb gasket that I've used. It was about 1/4" thick with the hard plastic rings where the bolts go thru, but the rest of it was considerable softer than any other that I've used.
