87 cutlass power seat help

furst post here hoping someone can help me.

My 87 cutlass has the 6 way power seat and it won't move. I get a thunk when I push any of the buttons and nothing else.

Where do I start diagnosing it and how can I manually move it so I can drive for now? Thanks in advance. Lee

Welcome the the forum, I would take the seat out and see what is jamming it. It just might need to be cleaned and lubed

Figured it out, the transmission just crumbled in my hand. I was able to use a drill to adjust the seat to a comfortable position for now.
