Hey there!

87 with 305 and 2004r

Found a broken hard line on the vac pot at passenger exhaust manifold and another on the top port of the switch mounted to the thermostat gooseneck. Am I right to connect these two or do they both connect to other spots?

Anyone have a stock 87 they can look at to tell me?

thanks!

No. If the dashpot you refer to is actually the heat stove. It will be on all the time, off all time, or on or off at oddball times...

Any time you see a multiport switch screwed in to a cooling jacket, manifold or thermostat housing you immediately know the switch is temperature controlled.

What you don't know is whether the switch is open or closed, operates with engine cold or hot or attempting action at idle or cruise or acceleration.

You need to trace the lines back to the source... Manifold vacuum, or ported vacuum. Try to do some research on the purpose of the switch, and how that is controlling the item it is trying to control.

I'm wanting to say you are correct on the EFE line and EFE TVS on the thermostat housing. You should have a vacuum hose routing diagram on the fan shroud that would confirm it.
The best I have is a picture of the emissions tag from my 88 Monte Carlo SS. You should have vacuum going to the EFE valve when cold then as the engine reaches operating temperature the vacuum switch should close and supply should drop to zero.

Hope this helps.
