what up guys i know this isnt a Gbody but i was just wantin some opinions. I got the 350 dropped in the truck runs great i was just hopin you guys would check out the video on my youtube channel and tell me if this thing is cruise night and car show worthy. Im feelin alittle down on it but my buddys think its nice enough and i appreciate all of your opinions
First question, did you build it? Second,do you like it? I'm a sucker for step side so i like it. I would cruise the sh*t out of it.🙂 my opinion is if you are proud of it cruise it and show it. I don't have one single friend outside of this forum that likes my elco. Never stopped me.
Haha thats a good way too look at it 🙂
ive fallen in love with this thing. As for building it yes and no. The only thing ive done too it since ive had it is put the 350 and 700r4 in it but i just got it too so theres more work to come.
Thanks for the reply bro!
I likey!! those step side Chevy/GMC trucks are sweet! I considered picking up a single cab short bed before I bought my truck.... 😀 yours looks nice and build it to what you want and nobody else!
Thanks man! My current task at hand with it is the previous owner had rattle canned the interior. Which dont get me wrong ive done it too in the past but he didnt do it right alot of tiger stripes low spots and what not so im repairing that. Then on top of that he did the bed liner the same way low spots thick spots and flakeing off. I havent found a good way to fix that yet but soon lol
I like the stepsides as well. My gf actually has one of those trucks, but it's 4x4. It looks to be in good condition so if you wanna take it to the cruises. do it. These trucks are gonna be the next hot thing to classic truck collectors, they're already growing in popularity to restore. The standard cab step sides and regular short beds will be the most desirable IMO. I don't think the extended cabs will be as desirable as there was a lot more of them compared to the standard cabs within that body style 88-98.
Too be honest with you, I think asking somebody else if its cruise night/car show worthy isn't being fair to yourself. ive gone to ALOT of car shows and cruise nights, and theres everything from $100,000.00+ Ferraris/lambos to $1500.00 cars that somebody decided to START with. I think if you like what it is, you should take it and drive it where and when you like to. Car shows and cruise ins are MORE about the commaradary amongst like minded people, than it is about what car your driving, Its the car your driving that brought you to the event where other car enthusiasts are, NOT the type of car you drove to the event. Clearly, whatever anybody drives or takes anywhere is not always liked or admired the same by all people. Trying to appeal to the masses is a futile effort. DRIVE IT! CRUISE IT! LOVE IT! in the end ITS YOURS! enjoy!
