properly built 2004r will work fine and give you the overdrive.

your car originally had a 2004r so it should be an easy swap if you still have the Xmember

What is the 350 doing that you dont like it
Yes I been looking for a 200r4, extremely hard to find. The 350 jus ain’t clicking, once on the highway and it shifts the 3 time, I’m running a pretty high rpm around 3k or something like that. Car feels like it’s needs another gear!

It should only be shifting twice

1 shift 2 shift 3 and done

You only have the 2 choices 700r4 or 2004r

Unless you want to go computer controlled or manual trans

a well built 700r4/4l60, 4l60e requires a separate controller, will work just as well as a 200-4r and i think are easier to find.

tire size?

This! My TH2004R is my favorite thing about my gbody. Rebuilt to take a beating of course. Have it behind a torquey 383 and it chirps the tires going into all gears. Since it’s not a daily driver i could even get away with 4.11 gears back there and be okay with the OD.

my calculator with stock tire size shows 2650rpms @60mph, 3100 @70mph. this doesn't account for torque converter style or tach accuracy
