Direct bolt in or no? I can get one cheap, but I'm not interested in making brackets. I'm interested since it's already got a posi in it. Just dunno if it will bolt into a gbody.

Definitely not a bolt-in. F-Bodies were leaf spring where G-Bodies are coil spring. The posi carrier will bolt into the G-Body rear, but I think the splines are different (necessitating different axles).

'91's aren't leaf-sprung. Leaf springs died with the end of the second gen. body style in '81.

They did use a different rear suspension set up than G-bodies, so it won't work.

The F body rear is also much wider than a G body rear. They also have different rear suspension designs as the G body uses a 90 degree splayed set of upper control arms to locate the axle and set the pinion angle while the F body uses a Panhard rod and torque arm to perform these functions instead.

Thanks, that's more the info I was lookin for. What vehicles have interchangable axles? I know g-body's but anything else? I'm hoping to upgrade over the 7.5 shortly after my 350 swap. I'm not gunna be making huge power, 350ish max, but it will see the strip here and there so limited slip or posi would be ideal without having ti pay big money to stuff one in and welding the rear is something I couldn't live with, it's a dd after all.

the rear suspension of the g-body is unique to only the g-body. the b-body is similar but not a bolt in, the f-body not a bolt in. in fact AFAIK no rear can bolt in to another car built on another platform.

this is the one sticking point with GM, they used different suspensions and rears for all platforms and there isnt much interchangeability between them. brakes are slightly different and im glad for that.
