Whooo Hoooo! Home after the 115 mile round trip today, kicked up a code, but runs Great! I'm surprised myself at how well it runs! 8) Nice cold start idle, No stumbling at stop signs, Just a great running set up! This has been a very low-budget swap, I got thinking about it, and paid $200.00 for the engine, 50.00 into gaskets, 130. for headers, 250. for new cat and exhaust hooked up, about 100.00 for fuel pump and lines, a few odds and ends, but pretty sure the total swap come in at just under $800.00! Hard to believe, but thats it!

Good to hear. Not many better feelings (automotively speaking  ) than a successful EFI swap. Congrats! What was the code?

Not sure on the code yet, but it kicked up twice. Both while I left the car running sitting in park after driving around. I'll get to checking it soon. Need to get an air filter, probably tomorrow. The 3.73's get the fan howeling like crazy, at 3,200 R.P.M.'s. About 75 on the highway. Probably gonna get an electric fan set-up soon also. Almost had to laugh at this old clutch fan!

Been driving pretty good! I've not filled the tank full yet, so no mileage #'s but I've put about 500 miles on it. Guessing it somewhere in the 15 MPG area. I haven't got the tuning cables either. I'm guessing the off idle hesitation is in the fuel pressure. I checked it to find it fluctuating between 9-13 sitting still. Thinking of a slightly better fuel pump. Enjoying cruising until then. 😀

Whooooa! What a difference in fuel pressure makes! The whole time this things been running on barely enough pressure to idle! Put a higher pressure inline pump, and filter out back, very close to the gas tank. The old inline pump was up front by the engine, had to pull fuel way to far! This thing is running like a corvette now! Roasts tires from a stand still, no hesitation at all! Now I'm afraid my transmission may not hold up too well ! So lesson of the day......FUEL PRESSURE
