If your wiring skills are up to par, it's not that bad. Like I mentioned, all the schematics are out there. If you get the pinouts for the computer, you can sift through the harness pretty easily. Plus, if you do it yourself, it'll be 1000x easier to troubleshoot should something go awry. My first experience was with a stock harness my buddy sent to 150tunes.com. It took 6 or 7 months to get back and cost $450. They use their measurements for length, so you have to put stuff where the wires reach unless you want to extend them. In your case, you may be better off buying a standalone harness for a couple of dollars more. The good thing is that the General didn't change too many colors from the old days: orange is still constant, black=ground, pink=ignition, etc.
