Having a hard time reinstalling an a/c compressor in my 78 Malibu Classic. Its got a 305 V8 5.0 Engine with the compressor (pancake style)mounted on the driver side right above the power steering pump. It practically hits the top of the p.s. pump fill cap. I would have to remove the compressor just to check the p.s. fluid. It could be I'm missing or have the wrong mounting brackets . Anyone send a pic of how that compressor position is supposed to look when properly installed . .I can use all the help I can get..Thank You

Sounds like you might have the wrong brackets for your compressor. '78 models would more than likely have the long A-3 axial compressor as opposed to the R-4 radial, or pancake style unit.
