A letter from the Boss.

That's OK I was going to quit anyway. Why would I want to work for such a pompous arrogant boss anyway? Especially, with the current conditions of the company as you stated in your first letter.

I'm good at my job, so I already have a job with your competitor. Now he will gain from my had work on his next proposal. He pays better, invests more in the company, and his company is doing just fine (even better when I get there).

The point is, you are just an employee. A cog in the machine. Yes, your efforts make it work, but you are not unique or irreplaceable. If you find somewhere to sell your labor for more money that too is capitalism. Go work there. You do not have a right to your employer's money, nor does the government or lazy slobs living off the system. Let them go make their economic reality better by putting fort the effort to do so. Sorry, but I work among the working poor and they are there because that is all they deserve. I am there because of my own lack of ambition (until recently) and deserve what I get. Had I put forth the effort years ago to improve my lot in life my life would be better right now. I am trying to get out because I realize my own intellectual superiority to those around me and that I need to be around people capable of intelligent thought, which most of the poor are not.

That'll save us the unemployment. Oh, by the way we are in talks to buy out the 'competitor' you went to work for so we be sure to 'review' your skill set when the time comes. Don't get too comfortable 'over there'. They are good and have a great product/service, that is why we need them. We will be able to compete globally.

P.S. I hope that $500 in your bank account is enough.

The original letter was not about the quality of an employee it was about a boss belly aching about how hard they have it. I agree employees are just cogs in the machine, in our post industrial non-union era. However an employer is not just paying taxes is not just so the lazy slobs can survive. Taxes are the only income our company has (except for weapons sales and we know how that has gone).

And, if the owner of this company can afford to buy the competition, than he was lying in the first letter about the desperate times the company faces, just trying to squeeze the employee. I will concede that the employer has the power here, but power does not make you right. If the argument is an employer can do anything they want to an employee, you are right. If the discussion is whether or not it is right or fair, we have a much bigger discussion.

I said it before, "We live in the greatest country on earth, who ever said it was supposed to be cheap". And the better you live, the better the country for you, so pay your taxes, be glad you are doing well and quit complaining.

Just so you know, I am a hard working employee, just like you. The reason I made the original post is because I have worked with coworkers who had little if any idea of what it is to 'run the place'.

Sad as it sounds, it is all about the money. As far as the money to buy out anything, it can be borrowed fairly easily. K Mart bought Sears. Money is just an idea. Kind of a game really.

I have had many employers over the years. some good, some not so good. I see people who make a day of complaining about pretty much everything. Sadly, I have also seen management that really didn't understand the integral part the labor plays. It really is a team effort. Unfortunately some parts of the team want to take advantage of the other players.

What the stupid employee doesn't comprehend is that no one has ever worked for a poor guy. Yes, your boss is rich. Get over it. If you want to be rich, open your own business and give it a shot. Yes you too can become rich, but along the way, you'll have to pay off the .gov with many, many taxes. Most of which are unfair and unjust, which is the other point of the letter.

So unless you want to deal with all of that, don't complain about the boss, or your job because (for the most part) your situation is no ones fault but your own. And I can respect people who realize that instead of blaming others.
