Im looking for an A-pillar gauge pod preferably just a dual for 2 5/8th sized gauges. All im finding is 2 1/16th. I need 2 5/8th because I already have the gauges. Anybody know of a place that sells them? Preferably made for a gbody not the universal ones that look like sh*t. Also pics would be helpful so I can make my mind up as to whether or not I want to go this route. Thanks

This place has a Monte 2-gauge pillar that is the whole pillar (not an add-on one) but it doesn't list the hole sizes.

I'm sure that is the same one everybody else carries like Gbodyparts.com etc. with 2-1/16" gauges;

I bought this style years ago and it did not have the outer edge that wraps around the pillar like the factory style leaving an exposed gap making it look unfinished in my opinion and without that edge it was also kind of flimsy, so I sent mine back.

What kind (if any) do you have in your car, 565? I'm interested in this thread because I'm looking to add a water temp and oil pressure gauge and I'm not sure if I want to put them on the a pillar or buy a console 2-pod setup from GBP.

I just installed the separate 2 pod on an extra factory A pillar piece and just trimmed to fit as tight as possible, this also gave me the option of where I actually wanted the two gauges for best viewing.
I know Liquidh8 did the same thing but actually molded them into his factory piece which came out great but as stated was a lot of work.
I have nitrous pressure and fuel pressure for the nitrous fuel pump on my pillar, whatever gauges you want make sure you buy electrical ones (there is no room for lines and tubing) and the good ones are expensive.

I was thinking about how there wouldn't be room for tubing on the a pillar. I was looking at a set of Autometer gauges that match my Autometer tach, I'll have to double check to see if they are electric.

Im thinking I will just make a pod for the console to mount the gauges. The gauges would be trans temp and vacuum so its not like I would be needing to look at them constantly like a tach speedometer. Thanks for the links now I need to either find a console mount pod that doesnt look cheesy or try and make one. I also have a cowl hood so I could stick them in there...

Yep, same here. Had a 3 gauge A-pillar pod on both my '87 and the '81. From inside the car they looked great and fit looked nice as well but open the door or roll the window down and the gap between the weatherstripping and A-pillar pod was horrid.

I think they would look sick if you put them in the cowl. Keep us updated on what you do, I'd love to see the final result.

I was originally going to make an elaborate set up with an aluminum plate and all AN lines and fittings to mount two mechanical gauges in my cowl opening (nitrous and fuel pressure) but both would have needed braided lines ran to them and I could not find a good way to route them so they would not rub on something with the hood closed or be over the headers and I considered putting the electrical ones in there but they can't get wet.
Another reason I decided against it was since my cowl is functional and my carburetor is sealed to the hood the only air I get is from the opening in the cowl I didn't feel making the opening smaller would be a good idea for the big Dominator.
