Well, I figured I'd Google it to see if anyone was working on it, and yes, someone has done it. it's not small enough to fit the reactor on your DeLorean just yet, but wait a few years... Anyhow, here's the article on the real thing:

it's basically just a biodiesel plant. you can make "diesel" from almost any organic matter, or you can make ethanol.

I realize that, but I post it for the benefit of the class. I just wonder when large scale processing of organic waste into fuel will come into being. It makes a lot of sense to use these resources instead of dumping them into landfills.

or just have a dozen or so at a landfill and make it a power plant that runs offa methane and the mr. fusion. that would take care of the energy crisis right there! maybe...

My point precisely. Garbage is a huge biomass resource that can be exploited for energy production.
