Adjusting the emergency brakes???'s

Is there a way to adjust the emergency brakes from the pedal to make the emergency brakes grab tighter,i adjusted them out from the rear brakes but they still won't hold?Thanks

I assume that this means you adjusted the star wheels inside the drums to position the shoes where they need to be. Next, there is a 10mm locknut on the cable where it splits for both back brakes. Notice that there is about 3" of thread. Tighten that guy down to take up some of the slack. If you are lucky, you have a ratcheting combo wrench...deep socket may not cut it.

Ok I'll try to tighten that 10mm nut it happened when I installed a different rearend
