I recently bought a 1985 442, so I'm new to the G-body scene. It's my understanding that it is a common problem for the plastic neck of the shifter handle to break. I'm on a tight budget right now and don't want to plop down the $109 for a new handle. Has anyone sucessfully repaired the neck of their floor shifter handle? If so, what did you do and what did you use? I do have the shifter handle, but the bottom of the neck was broken off where it attaches with the clip. The clip and broken piece were missing when I bought the car. I'm contemplating everything from 2 part epoxy to JB Weld. Help!
