Akron, Oh.
Im in the midst of building a stroker 383, I'm about to buy a set of heads and I seen that summit sells Patriot Performance aluminum heads for 800 a pair assembled, but an ebay store sells the dart iron eagle platinums for the same price. Has anyone used the patriots before? Ive heard good things and bad things, but it was always " I heard from my buddy..." the dart heads have a good reputation of course but 800 bucks for a set of aluminum heads is hard to turn away from. Anyone's experiences will help out alot.

I don't have any experience with Patriot myself but Chevy High Performance just did a project build with a set of them. It may even have been on a 383, I can't remember. I would have to agree with you, 800 is hard to pass on for assembled aluminum heads. Dart Iron Eagles probably flow better but the weight savings might be worth it.

also check out AFR. they have some heads that supposedly are pretty damn good and relatively inexpensive.

brodix ik200 or ik 180 are a nice set assembled from 900+ nice good product and they stand by there product

I just built a 383 for friend with the 190cc Pro Comp heads (which is where Patriot get their heads) that made 580 horsepower on pump gas with flat tops and a comp hydraulic roller. I went with the 190's because he was putting it in a truck. The 210's would make more power and I can send you a set for $750.

I have a set of Patriot freedom heads, like the ones you saw on ebay. I got mine in their first promotions they did about 6-8 months ago, they came with larger intake valves, pocket porting, and extra goodies. For the brodix of the same class, they might flow 5 or 10 cfm more at a 500 lift. AFR's flow a significant amount more and they're the only top end ones you should buy if you're considering a high dollar set of heads.

For my money, I didn't see the gain in spending 500-1000$ more on a set of heads to gain 20 hp. The patriot ones are damn good for the price, spend the extra grand on porting and outflow the AFR's for the same price.

The ones I bought last year for 800$ are now 950$ on ebay. Maybe next year they'll be 1100$...

I just got a set of Patriot Freedom 225cc angle plug heads yesterday. These outflow most other heads if you compare flow numbers even their race heads. I am also building a 383. I had mine set up for a solid roller cam which costs extra. These are very nice heads. I also have a set of 210cc Pro Comp heads and run 12 with them on a 355. These are a decent head expecially for the price.
