I have an 86 Cutlass Salon with a console shifter. It has the original 200r4 in it, does anyone make an aftermarket ratchet shifter that will fit in the console? I would hate to hack it up.

Nope. You'll have to cut the console to fit an aftermarket shifter.
I installed a B&M Quick Silver shifter in my brother's '81 and it actually fits really well.
I used this website for the information:

As you can see, the chrome cover for the shifter fits the stock console perfectly:
But you do have to cut the plastic under the woodgrain to clear the shifter. As well as fab your own mount for the shifter, etc.

It looks awesome, I really like it. I just have to find a spare woodgrain piece before I cut mine. B & M makes a shifter that fits in the console of my 80 Firebird, I wonder if that would fit in there? It looks just like yours. Does any7one know if a Firebird shifter fits in that car?

And for the record, that picture isn't of mine but rather one from the website I posted. I don't have any pictures of mine at the moment but it looks the exact same.
You could remove the console completely and that way you wouldn't have to hack it up especially if its in good shape. :wink:
