So i bought some guages for my monte,i plan on getting the 3 piller pod. my guages are temptuare, oil pressure, air and fuel ratio but how can i hook it up if i got no o2 sensors and have headers on ? any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to drill one of you header collectors and weld in an O2 sensor bung. Then install your O2 sensor.

I believe they also make a band clamp style where you just need to drill a hole and then you can clamp the O2 sensor to the collector.

Just a couple of things to think about:

You will likely need a heated O2 sensor because placing it so far downstream from the exhaust ports can cause the readings to be off or really slow.

The other consideration is that if this is a narrow band O2 sensor and gauge your not going to be able to do any tuning with it that would amount to anything. It'll be good for telling you if the engine goes rich or lean but that's about it.
If its a wide band O2 then your set. 🙂

how much would a o2 sensor cost me ? and the guage is from autozone sunpro its black i just want it to go up and down for looks =/ just on take off Thank you.

Just on take off? You do know that this thing will constantly be flashing back and forth as you drive down the road right?

If you just want it for looks I wouldn't even bother going to the trouble of installing it. You could just install some blinking lights that would do the same thing.

well i once road on a ford lightning and it had that guage ,each time he gave it gas it would go up and when he wouldnt it would stay yellow, than clime to green again thats basicly what i would like

Rabbit,

I am a Product Specialist with Walker Products, a manufacturer and worldwide distributor of oxygen sensors. If you want your AFR gauge to function properly, then I would follow FE3X Clone's suggestion of installing an O2 sensor in one of the header collectors. Use a mild steel bung (Walker # 90-164) and a heated sensor (Walker # 250-23000). This sensor has three wires, with the black wire connecting to the original sensor wire, one white going to a fused 12 v source, and another white going to the chassis ground. This sensor is moderately priced and your engine will benefit from its installation. Good luck.

Sounds like that was either a boost or vacuum gage. Most likely a boost gage as the lightning is a turbo truck.
