let's see some custom Cold-Air and Ram-Air induction systems. Pictures plz...

I'm running the typical --aircleaner ontop of carb-- setup, and I'm interested to see what other people have done!

Running a modified stock olds 307 air cleaner.I redneck made a dual snorkel air cleaner out of two snorkel tubes from a 307 air cleaner and a 307 air cleaner.I punched a hole big enough to fit the plastic snorkel piece in the hole and attached the snorkel tube from the air cleaner housing to the rad support just like the stock configuration on the other side.Soon i'll be running a dual snorkel air cleaner from a 442 cutlass.Another idea i have is to buy a 1968 olds ram rod 350 air cleaner assembly from yearone for $1000.A lot for an air cleaner yes,but it includes the bumper mounted scoops, chrome lid, dual snorkel air cleaner, correct year clamps and the snorkel tubing.

that looks real cool Minion1186, have you noticed any power gain, or atleast a healthier feel from the engine?

I'm having real trouble finding a cheap drop base, with a snorkel setup, to sit ontop of a Holley Double Pumper. The old Corvette drop bases (that came from factory with a Holley) are impossible to find, and cost 100s of dollars to buy new.

One solution I saw at a car show, was using a typical aircleaner setup, but instead of a filter, he fitted a round cover (in the shape of a filter), with snorkels on it, and then ran ColdAir piping down like your car. He must have had filters at the end of the pipes.

I've had this air cleaner on my car since the summer,i've tested it and it not only makes the engine stay 20 degrees cooler, but i can feel a little difference. It adds more of a kick when my secondaries drop in.It serves the engine very well, especially in 90 degree weather and flooring it the whole day.I have to say though, since its been so cold lately it sucks cold starting it.Cold air rather than more air (like an open elements)is byfar a better choice, cold air is what gets horsepower, not exactly more air that gets heated by the engine and such.I do know what air cleaners you're talking about,i found a shitty one at carlisle swap meet three weeks ago and the guy wanted $80 for it!The cheapest thing you could do to get any performance cold air intakes like that is to make a temporary one like me.I got sick of my carby getting leaned out and having the engine heat up and lose performance when i ran an edelbrock open element,so i got two air cleaners from a junkyard cutlass and scratch made this one and i can tell ya it does wonders on long trips.Got to the local hardware store and get some dryer duct, clamps and do what i did,get creative, find where the cold air lurks;like underneath the bumper, innerfenders like on my cutlass have holes in them ,big enough for a dryer duct to fit through use that to your advantage.Look at speedbyspectre.com they have amazing looking cold air intakes for cars, lots of them are universal but cost about $150 for a dual snorkel air cleaner kit.
