The AIR pump on my 80 Malibu V6 is making a ticking sound. Should I replace it or just remove it? What else would need to be removed? I read the previous posts on this topic but I got somewhat confused with all the answers. We have no emissions tests here in Alabama.

Well there's really only one correct answer, and that is YES you can dump all that AIR junk in the trash with no ill effects.
