OK, well while I was changing my brakes yesterday I noticed something off (I think).

Well to start off, I had the car up on jack stands. They were positioned under the frame behind the front wheels. When I went to crank the wheels to one side (either way) I noticed that there was quite a bit of resistance. Any other car I've had I remember that the wheel would turn quite freely when the front end is off the ground. I gave the front steering linkage a quick look and didn't see anything that looked like it was rubbing anywhere.

Is this normal on these cars. Or is there maybe something wrong, any ideas?

p/s

was the motor running?

did you turn the steering wheel, or push on the tire's

it's normal to have resistance with power steering.... but it would'nt hurt to grease the ball joint's and linkage...jesse

Motor was not running. And I was turning it with the steering wheel. Everything was greased a few months ago.

If you have a fast ratio box it still may be a bit stiff in the situation you noted. It is hard to tell though if you have a problem without actually seeing the car and trying it for myself.

How mant turns on a normal one and how many on the high ratio one?

3.5 vs 2.5 or 2.25

OK, well I gotta go out later this afternoon. Ill check the # of turns.

Hmm, well I did a check on my # of turns. I can only get 3 turns. Weird.
