Alright, I have a 1981 Buick Regal that came with a v6 and I want more power. Ha, how many times have we all either heard, read, or said that very thing (insert your car where I stated mine). I plan on doing this on the cheap. By cheap I mean lets see what can happen with what I have laying around. I have a 305 bored .060 over that needs a new home. I was wondering if I can stab this engine in with an adapter to take my turbo 350 trans from a buick bolt pattern to a chevy and pretty much call it done. I know there is exhaust, coolant, fuel, and electrical to run. My question is quite simply will it just "drop right in" with the proper mounts. I know someone is going to ask so here is what I expect to do with this car, just drive it. It's not getting drag raced, it's not for road racing, it's just a daily driver that I'd like a little more power and I have the engine laying around already. And let the ideas flow.

I've done this swap a couple times but as you said this is just going to be a driver and the cars I bought the V6 didn't run anyways.
The trans adapters are pretty straightforward and usually come with everything needed to adapt the BOP trans to the Chevy block.
You just need the Gbody SBC upper and lower engine mounts and that will get the engine in.
At the very least I would add a V8 radiator and shroud and just adapt everything else to fit.

I figured it would be a pretty straight forward swap since some of these cars came with small blocks. I've just never used the adapter before so I didn't know if I would need a different flex plate or torque converter.
