I am from MD and just recently bought a 1985 GMC Caballero. The guy lowballed himself from the 1500 buck asking price he had in the newspaper to 1000 bucks when I got there. The previous owner claimed that the car had a SBC 350 and a TH350 trans that was installed by the guy he bought the car from.Well needless to say,it did not have a 350.I finally scraped the oil off of the rear of the engine and found the code.It turned out to be a 305.I hate when people lie.I hated myself more for not checking before I bought it.Oh well.I found a complete 350 from a local scrapyard and installed that the following weekend.Along with the engine swap I have also installed a Edelbrock Performer EPS intake,Edelbrock 600 CFM carb,Edelbrock chrome valve covers,Edelbrock air cleaner,GM HEI vacuum advance distributor,Dynomax longtube headers and have started to remove all of the un-needed wiring from the engine bay.I needed another toy to play with.Next thing to do is some sort of exhaust.I have been running open headers 🙂
Then will come the much needed bodywork. All it really needs is a paintjob.
I will post some pics as soon as I get them uploaded

sweet sounds like a nice car get some pics so we can all see!
