Vancouver B.C.
Hi I'm new to the site, I live up near Vancouver B.C. and have an 88 monte carlo ss. I bought it with a carberated 350 out of a camaro and a 700r4. Since then I've added a fully rebuilt 383 with forged internals and aluminum heads, a monster 700r4, rebuilt the stock 10 bolt with an auburn posi and 3.73's (I'm currently trying to set up a 9") and have lowered the car, along with a few other things.

Sweet looking Monte.............Ever taken it to the strip??? Here is My Opinion, F that ford 9" and go with an A body 12 bolt rear.....Just as strong, and keep your Chevy car all Chevy..Again, JMO 8)

I've taken it to the strip but not since my build up has started. it ran 14.4 back then. I know the 12 bolt can be just as strong but i'm being given a housing thats been narrowed and had all the mounts put on for free and can use an extra center section my brother has. It's a deal i can't pass up. I'm actually just about to start stripping the car down for body work and going to try and paint it myself this summer. Thats a nice car you have yourself, from the picture those rear tires look pretty beefy, is the picture misleading or have you mini tubbed it? whats it run?

Thanks for your respond in kind.......I say if you already got the housing and it's ready to go.....You got a great deal....Heck, I'd do the same thing............As far as my car there are no mini-tubbs there.. I am running Nitto 275-60-15 drag radials out back...............I took my car to the track last year and it stumbled bad at the line... I ran a 13.39 with the eddy 750 carb, th 400 transmission, 3g stall and 3.73 gears...............On Paper, she is a high 11 to low 12's car..At the track it fell on it's face with a bog off the line...this year will be a bit Different...I now have a holley 750 dp, went to a 700-r4 transmission and 4.10 gears...when I get her to the 1320' I'll let ya know 🙂

Well with the 700r4's first gear being so steep and 4.10s I think you'll notice a huge difference you shouldn't bog anymore.
I'm painting the car dark charcoal, or gun metal gray. I haven't picked out a paint code or anything yet, but I want it dark
