CUTLASS Picked up another one

Well here is a good post to remind me never to look at a Vinyl top car.
Yeah for sure! Especially one that has been sitting outside forever and had a tree fall on it. Out of all the Cutlass's i have had i think this is only the 3rd i have bought with a vinyl top and I got really lucky on the first two. This one i kind of figured had issues, but i was even a bit shocked.

Ooook so just another update and big reveal! I started roughing in all the body work. Not going for perfect, but not being smashed and rotten was the goal.

Then I got the body filler as leveled as I needed it to be.

Then the big reveal, all in primer and ready to go. Complete with actual window corners and no big dents.

Let me know what you guys think. I'm really happy with it and the point of this is a budget cruiser with hopes of going to cruising the coast later this year.

Massive improvement! I think I might see a tiny bit of wavy along the roofline but overall this looks pretty good, and I've seen people proud of lesser work.

Another skim coat and time with the longboard would probably finish it off to perfection, though a bit of paint is all you need to cruise....

Good eye! correct there is a slight wave where the most crushed area was. But what i figured was i could spend a bunch of time getting it perfect, or go enjoy it this spring. Im also curious how much it will be noticeable when i put the new half top on. Well when i spray it on that is 🤐

I believe you made the right decision for your project, and if that area still shows a bit later, well, spray more bed liner on it!

I did hit an unexpected snag, which was probably why it was parked in 2000. I got it out to take it around the block once i got the exhaust all sealed back up, and when its cold its fine however once it warms up a touch cylinder 3 says hello. Baaaaaad knock and once its warm even at idle you can hear it, so this engine is toast. So its time to slap together another 307 that i had laying around to throw down in it. I want to get this thing back going.
