Hello Folks,

I've been lurking for a while and finally took the time to join.

I hope to learn (and maybe contribute) a thing or two. I've read a lot of good info for a while now.

I've got a '78 Malibu with a big block that I've been piddling on for 17+ years.

Good to be here,
Dan

Welcome to the forum, nice looking Malibu you appear to have done more than just "piddling" around on your car.
I always like race inspired builds.

I'm glad you are here sir. I have the magazine issue you are in, not to mention that your wheel choice influenced mine. Not that I'm trying to make a carbon copy of your car (mine is a 20 year old torch red paint job as well) but I couldn't decide between the Weld RT-S wheels and the Billet Specialties till I came across this older magazine I had laying around.

Welcome aboard from another new guy and please, post more pics of your car. Alex.

Welcome aboard Dan!
Great looking Malibu. 8)

Welcome Dan; That's one serious looking automobile. I've been piddling twice as long as you, 35 years. It looks like you have piddled more & faster. You didn't mention where you are from. Are you considering Power Tour next summer. It ends about 90 miles North of me (Wisc Dells). Merry Christmas to all, Bob Jr.

Thanks guys for the welcome!

Here's a couple more shots. The dragstrip picture is from our local 1/8th mile, wish we had a quarter around here. I recently installed a set of Edelbrock heads and went up to a 850 Holley. The car picked up 3 tenths, I'm now stuck in the 7.20's thru the mufflers and on drag radials.....just like I drive the car.
I'm thinking that's 11.20's according to a NHRA calculator app.
I have a few more things planned, I want the car to run 10's (a 10.9999 will be fine) on motor and still drive it everywhere.

Bob, I've read where the Hot Rod Power Tour is coming thru my area, Knoxville TN next year so I might take in a leg or two.

Alex, I got my wheels when they first came out 6 or 7 years ago. They are light and have held up well. I've wanted to change things around a little with some widened red steelies and dog dish hubcaps in memory of the old COPO cars but man the steel wheels are HEAVY and I can't afford custom billet ones.
I like the painted bumpers on your car......may have to copy yours!

Thanks again for the compliments fellows. Merry Christmas to all of you and your families.

Dan

Welcome from West Michigan, Dan. Nice Malibu.
