Another r&d question...do any of you guys use block oil restrictors or oil restricted pushrods?? Any input appreciated
 
No to both of those. If your concerned about oiling issues run a larger oil pan with more capacity. Keep the rpm under 5500 or so and you be fine!
 
I have restricted cam bearings in mine. However since building the engine I believe the consensus among most Olds engine builders is if you are going to restrict anything you're better off going with restricted pushrods, especially with hydraulic lifters.
 
I have the restricter's in my BBO and have had no problems. But I also have a larger oil pan a high volume oil pump and have modified the oil pump and pick up for more flow. All works pretty well together so far.
