here is the result of a flat tire, the minivans offer no protection in a roll over and this roll over should never have happened for just a flat tire. It shows minivans are top heavy and a dangerous vehicle on the highway.. This was a local accident and a 15 year old kid was trapped for almost an hour and has life threatening injuries....

I love mini vans and have owned one since my late 20's and currently 66 - M series was probably my favorite owning 4 of them. Currently own 2 mini vans and love my 4 wheel dr Traverse. I would like to know exactly what happed in that accident - with all that crap in the van it's a wonder a kid could fit. Now you want to talk about top heavy my 32ft motor home w/ 28 foot trailer

For me and my family, minivans have been great vehicles. We've had minivans for over 20 years now. We've owned GM minivans over the years (plastic bodied Lumina APV and Pontiac Trans Sport, 2 Venture vans and currently have an '09 Uplander). I love the utility, and the sliding doors. I have one of the last GM minivans, since '09 was the last year that GM offered a minivan, and I was pretty bummed about that. The dealership has contacted me several times since I've had the Uplander, to see if I'd like to tade it in on something newer. I ask them if they have a new minivan available. They counter with something like a Traverse or Equinox. I ask them if it has sliding doors. That kind of stops them in their tracks. After that, the conversation usually ends quickly. I have a hard time understanding why GM discontinued their minivan offerings. Ford did too, but got back in a couple of years ago with the Transit Connect minivan-not very big, but at least its something. Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, Kia, and I believe Nissan are still offering a minivan in their lineups. If they all feel that minivans are a viable vehicle, why doesn't GM? I'm sure that if the designers at GM were to put their minds to it, they could design something that would be competitive with everyone else. They seem to feel that all anyone needs these days is a crossover vehicle.
Anyway, rant over. Thanks for listening.

that minivan only had a flat tire at highway speeds, they didn't hit a ditch or anything that could cause a vehicle to flip. It's because the minivans are unstable and looking at the pillars offering no protection minivans should be built with roll bars.

That's no mini-van...
That's a full-size van, looks like the Mercedes/Dodge Sprinter...
A van that was designed for narrow European streets, that is very tall.
Clearly a commercial van of some sort judging by the lettering on the sides. And a fully loaded van at that...
Tall, top heavy, fully loaded van plus a blowout at highway speeds?
Not hard to imagine the result...

The real 'minivans' that cruise around to soccer practice are all car-based and actually drive very well, despite being soul-crushing and ugly...

Our Chevy Astro blew a tire at 75 and had no damage, didn't spin out, didn't roll over. Mom was able to pull over in time that there wasn't even any damage to the wheel at all. I'm not saying I like minivans, an Astro isn't even a minivan, I'm just saying there has to have been more involved in that accident than just a blown tire, i.e. inexperienced driver, improper suspension adjustment, road conditions, improper vehicle condition, etc. etc. Last I checked, all minivans don't just spontaneously roll over, which seems to be the point you're trying to make

Over filling a tire is much more dangerous than an under inflated tire. An over inflated tire has too much air. Standard passenger tire may tell you 45psi max, but most vehicle manufatures specify to fill up to 30-36 psi on average. Now lets say you fill a tire up at 65psi! Like most non-carguys will fill untill the tire i nice and ROUND, why use a pressure gauge when you can eyeball it. When a tire is at specified pressure it usually looks a little flat (you should know that). So now you got bobby filling that puppy up to 65psi meh looks good. Wrong! If that tire is so full and is prettey much rock hard...where is all the extra pressure going to go when bobbys driving at highway speed and that air in the tire heats up??? Well ladies and gentlemen, out.
Want to see what an over inflated tire looks like when it explodes.
Alot worse than a tire just going flat because it was low on air don't you think? Almost any top heavy vehicle will flip if a tire blew up like that.

x2, I hate liking those damn things🙁
