Any HVAC Techs in the House?

I see a transformer in your very first pic, but don't see wires connected to it. Got another one some where?

I took the old transformer out,, because it wasn't hooked to anything. I unfahked the wiring, put the old t-stat back in, and it works again. Must have been a loose wire.

Wow. That thing has to be 30plus years old !!!

1976 to be exact. It's the original Tappan oil furnace from when the house was built.

Well they definitely built them better back then but I hope you have checked out the integrity of the heat exchanger.
