I want to clean up my plastic inner wheelwells. I have a 88 Monte Carlo LS, I took them off but there is so much dirt and grime on the them. Any suggestions on cleaning the up and what product should I spray them with Im leaning toward a flat black. Open to any suggestions or pics thanks.

if it's really gunky, grab some varsal and a brush and scrub the gunk off. Make sure you don't scratch. Once the heavy chunky stuff is off, use varsal and a rag to scrub off the remaining dirt.

... I wouldn't bother painting them. The plastic is so soft, the paint will crack and chip eventually anyways... A trick I use to keep mine looking good is rubbing on some tire shine every few months. It keeps them black, smooth, and shiny.

I used some Wesley's Bleach White to clean mine really well. Used a tire brush to scrub them good than hosed them off.

Once they were dry I wiped them down with a wax and grease remover and then sprayed them with Dupli-color's vinyl and fabric dye. Same stuff I used to dye my interior pieces with. It works really well and doesn't crack or flake off.

Wow that's a good idea, never thought of that before.

mine werent to gunky. just a little bit. i pressure washed them, them sprayed them with degreaser and scrubbed them with a tire brush them rinsed them and let dry. i used adhesion promoter as a primer and sprayed them in semi gloss black. ill see how the paint holds up over time.

The plastikote vinyl crap I used didn't hold up so great, it did look really nice for a year or two, but all the underhood heat made it flake and look shitty (daily driver though). I had to strip it all back off, now I use the tire shine method (if I want it to look pretty  )
