any way to repair a factory radio?

i am definitely not the most mechanically inclined person, and i fixed the cassette deck in my Expedition
First time I ever looked at the inside of a tape player, and after playing with it for a while, watching how everything worked, I found the problem and fixed it.
My particular problem was the "timing" of all the gears. One gear that had a position sensor on it, was in the wrong position, causing the tape player to not work at all. But this was a newer, more electronically controlled unit, than the Delco you have.
But playing with it, and watching how everything moves around, should give you an idea of whats needed.
 
I'm glad you guys told me to try and fix it myself- I took it apart, and after about five minutes saw that the"eject" mechanism wasn't engaging. I manually engaged it, cleaned it up and then popped it back in, and the radio returned to its prior function. If I wouldn't have done that, Id be spending $80 to have it repaired, or $60 for a new unit. Thanks, all.
