Of course now that the 30" wheel fad is dying (thank God) I'm seeing the occasional deal on G cars with lifted suspension. I generally pass them over, figuring they're probably a hack job. I just wondered if you guys know about buying one of these cars and un-lifting it? What would it take in most circumstances to get it back to stock?

I would guess just springs, shocks, and wheels on most of them.

They're mostly spindle kits arent they? Im sure the shocks, springs etc might of been touched. But they normally change out the front spindles. The backs, probably blocks?

Not a fad and not going anywhere, we just don't use lift kits anymore, unless you're on 28"s or more. Usually it is just springs and shocks. Sometimes lift cups that go under the springs maybe tack welded in, or not. Some people did use spindles to lift their cars. Most lifts are easily removable.

The one problem I see with buying one of those cars (if you don't want the big rims and lift) is that they are usually seeling the cars with the rims, and the rims are usually worth more than the car is. I f you can get the car at a reduced price without the wheels, then it would be worth it.

Yeah that's what I'm seeing is a few cars that have the stock wheels put back on or the guy says you can buy the car without the wheels for $x.xx

If you ask nicely, they'll probably sell you the car w/o the rims.

i have lifted cars for many people most are just b body springs or lift cups, but i have done spindles, control arms adjustable trialing arms, and notched the frame(front/rear) if the front control arms are the short tubular ones you will need to change them and make sure the driveshaft hasnt been extended.. I used to be a fan big rims not any morebut all my friends has took the wheels off . We about racing now.. Good Luck.

it depends on how wide and what brand tire you use i believe.
