Anybody own a 4 door Regal?

Four door Regal owner, checking in.

Man, that thing is so unbelievably clean in comparison to my rust bucket... I share your pain in finding parts for one. I need quarter panels, and the quarters for four door Regals are exclusive to the Buicks. Honestly, I only need the bottoms, but even so. One of the taillights needs replacing as it has a hole in it.. I believe that was a 'two year' style taillight, since yours look identical to mine... I got lucky and found four power window/lock equipped doors for mine, and almost fainted when I saw the four door Cutlass they were attached to in the junkyard. Best advice: Use whatever Cutlass parts you can get. Quarters are different, but most of the body is almost identical, so four door Cutlasses will be your best carcasses to pick through, when you can find them.

In any case, awesome Regal. Take care of her! Not too many four door Regals running around, even on here.

Thanks RegalShep. 82-83 the tailights were the same. Then they changed in 84. Also they changed the regal emblem from the cursive style to the brick style font. I remember seeing a pair of tailights on ebay not too long ago. I didn't know the quarters were exclusive to it. Learn something new everyday!

It would be nice to find the power vent setup, but there's hardly any G Body stuff left around here.

Its got some surface rust here and there, but it's not bad. It gets parked under cover now so it hardly ever sees water except when I wash it.

Ha! Many years ago I took my Cutlass to a junkyard that lets you drive around in it. While parts hunting with my friend the old 200C lost reverse right there in the yard. To this day, if my buddy mentions that he's making a trip there I always tell him to keep an eye out for my lost reverse.

I don't really need it now though as my old GN 200-4R is bolted in place of the 200C.

I actually own a 4-door. '84 Regal V6. I got bored today and ripped off a bunch of electronics and it seemed to gain a bit more juice. Its really a side project. It needs an entire exfhaust and the Th200 lost reverse. I'm currentlty just using it as a practice thing, taking stuff apart and putting back together and such. But Id like to rig up a Junkyard Twin Turbo set up on it or swap the engine with a junkyard V8. Nothing special, that's what my Monte is for!

I tryed that before. I disconnected the computer from the distributor and yes, It did seem to gain some power. A good thing to do to gain a bit of power is to remove the EFE grid under the carb and put a standard Dualjet gasket in its place. It breathes a lot better without it and won't throw a code if you remove the relay. Only downside is if it gets REALLY cold its harder to start. Dont really have to worry about that here in FL

The computer controls the timing on it. You can see it if you hook a timing light up. While its running WITH the computer connected, you can see the white mark jumping around. When running WITHOUT, it's like an old school v8, doesn't jump around but stays right wherever you set it at.

The twin turbo idea sounds interesting. Whatever you do to it be sure to post, I'd love to see it.

Not a Regal, but I seem to remember someone on a mailing list I was on that had a 4-door Cutlass that they did in a sort of 1979 Hurst Olds style/color scheme. Was definitely interesting!

Hmm, interesting indeed. I thought about maybe a 4 door GN, but figured I'd leave it stock with minor upgrades. After all she is a numbers matching car.

That sounds absolutely intriguing!
