Anybody using ngk iridium plugs?

I like the original NGK plugs, better than any other plug in my Olds V8's. The Iridium's are fine in my Corolla. I used the AC rapid fire plugs in my 403, idled rougher and fouled easier.

I use AC Delco Iridium in my Cobalt. The real purpose is to resist the tip decay that occurs in waste-fire ignition systems. Platinum was used for the same reason, and Iridium is found with Platinum. It is the hardest and most corrosion resistant metal on Earth and can withstand very high temperatures. High end cars with 100,000 mile tune-up intervals come with Iridium plugs standard. An old stock motor probably doesn't need them. But a severe duty motor that eats plugs surely could.

i have NGK platinums in the monte--they work great. but i think that iridium is USUALLY a waste of money. they can make a real improvement in some engines, but not most.

Ok thanks for the info. Guess i can stick with the regular ones in my 455 for now. I just got new plug wires put on so I figured id put in new plugs when i put on the c heads I got after i give them a good cleaning. My boss at work does soda blasting on the side so im gonna have him do the heads and the other 455 block i got and probably the extra oil pan and stuff that came with it.

I'm using the NGK iridiums in my sbc350
... but for only one reason... they're the only ones I can find locally cool enough for the compression I am running.

As Bonnewagon pointed out, they are very high quality, high end, and are more durable under extreme cylinder temperatures and conditions. You can rely on more consistency when running a large gap (provided the rest of your ignition is up to snuff)

... that being said, unless you're running high compression, big gap, lots of timing advance, and extreme heat and rpms
regular spark plugs are plenty.
